Verso French text. Very good restored condition. This rare map is probably the only known published by Michael Mercator and from one of the two editions of the Mercator-Hondius atlas published in 1628 or 1633. Unframed. Prächtig kolorierte, breitrandige Amerika-Karte im Tondo. Die Hemisphäre umgeben von einer floralen Bordüre mit einer Schriftkartusche bzw. drei Detailkarten des Golfes von Mexiko, Haiti sowie Kuba in den vier Ecken. Verso französischer Text. Sehr guter, rest. Zustand. H. 36,6, B. 46 cm (Darstellung), H. 45,8, B. 55,9 cm (Blattgröße). Ungerahmt.
Vorliegendes Exemplar stammt von einer der beiden französischen Ausgaben des Mercator-Hondius-Atlas aus den Jahren 1628 bzw. 1633.
