Seltene Huanghuali-Schatulle

China 18. Jh. Huanghuali-Holz und Messing. Rechteckiger Korpus mit gerundeten Kanten und scharniertem Deckel. Korpus und Deckel mit profilierten Rändern. An Korpus- und Deckelkanten glatte Beschläge, in der Front zweiteilige Schlossplatte mit Kreuzdekor und wolkenförmiger Schließe sowie auf dem Deckel Eckbeschläge in Ruyi-Form. H. 9, B. 25 cm.
Huanghuali ist eine seltene Art von Rosenholz, das Holz kommt aus dem Kern der Huali-Bäume. Der Huali-Baum benötigt circa 100 Jahre, um zu reifen, häufig wird der Kern des Baumes jedoch hohl.
