Wucai-Vase
Wucai vase. China, Qing dynasty. Porcelain, painted in polychrome colours. Unmarked.
This vase, painted in the five colours Wucai decor, is characterised by an exceptionally beautiful colour composition that emphasises effectively the two mythical creatures and the single motifs in the context of the baluster-shape of the vessel.

China, Qing-Dynastie. Porzellan, polychrom bemalt. Auf der Wandung umlaufend über einer Wellenbordüre am Stand fünfklauiger Drache mit Perle und Phönix, umgeben von Wolken und Flammen. Am Hals Spitzblattfries. Ungemarkt.
Diese im fünffarbigen Wucai-Dekor bemalte Vase zeichnet sich durch eine besonders schöne Farbkomposition aus, die die beiden Fabeltiere und die einzelnen Motive im Kontext der balusterförmigen Gefäßform effektvoll hervorhebt.
