The Sea Coconut also known as Coco de Mer is a palm only to be found on the islands of Praslin and Curieuse of the Seychelles. The coconut is the largest seed in the plant kingdom. The fruit, which requires up to seven years to mature, can be 50 cm long and contains from one to three seeds.

Die Seychellenpalme ist eine Palmenart, die nur auf den Seychelleninseln Praslin und Curieuse vorkommt. Ihre Nuss ist der größte bekannte Samen im Pflanzenreich. Die bis zu 50 cm langen Früchte enthalten ein bis drei Samen. Dabei bildet die Palme meistens nur eine Frucht im Jahr, deren Reifung bis zu sieben Jahre dauert.
