Irish landscape painter late 19th C. Italian coastal landscape. Gouache on watercolour paper, relined on cardboard. Inscribed lower right «Chas Rowbotham» and dated 1886. Partially discolouration and staining, scratch upper left.
The creator of this appealing costal landscape is a representative of the big Irish family of painters, called Rowbotham. The members of this family are so similar in quality, depicted subjects and execution of their works that it is almost impossible to differ between them.

Der Schöpfer dieser sehr reizvollen Küstenlandschaft ist ein Vertreter der großen irischen Malerfamilie Rowbotham, deren Mitglieder sich in Qualität, Sujets und Stil der Ausführung ihrer Arbeiten kaum voneinander unterscheiden.
