Einer schriftlichen Chronik des 15. Jahrhunderts zufolge wurde das Geburtshaus der Jungfrau Maria auf wundersame Weise am 10. Mai 1291 von Engeln zur Rettung vor den sich Nazareth nähernden Muslimen erst auf den Hügel von Trsat in Kroatien und von dort drei Jahre später weiter nach Loreto in Italien auf die andere Seite des Adriatischen Meeres verbracht, wo es sich noch heute befinden soll. Beide Orte sind heute berühmte Marien-Wallfahrtsorte.

According to a written chronicle of the 15th century, the birth house of the Holy Virgin in Nazareth has been protected by angels in a miraculous way, in order to defend it from the approaching Muslims. On 10th of May 1291 the angels brought the house first to Trsat in Croatia, and from there three years later to Loreto in Italy on the other side of the Adriatic Sea, where it is still supposed to be located today. Both places are famous and important Marian shrines today.
