«But he [Emil Rudolf Weiß] was in a similar position to Bizer, earning his living with book art and small painting commissions in return for board and lodging, such as the decorative design of the dining room in the Hotel Zähringer Hof in Freiburg. It was ‹relationships› of this kind that led the publisher Dr Georg Lüttke in Berlin to publish a portfolio of 8 multi-coloured collotype prints after grisailles by Emil Bizer in 1943. [...] In order to market the portfolio inconspicuously to those in power, Bizer's roots in the homeland were addressed, ostracized names such as René Schickele and Annette Kolb were concealed, while Hermann Burte was mentioned.» from: Hans.
