Gold earring with garnet
Eastern Mediterranean probably 5th - 6th C. AD. Yellow gold 22k (tested). French wire with round front, set with an almandine cabochon, finished with a movable conical body decorated with granulation.
H 4,2 cm. 1,9 g.
Provenance: according to the consignor purchased at Jürgen Haering, Galerie am Museum, Freiburg i.Br., in 1974; since then private collection Dreisamtal.

Goldohrhänger mit Granat
Östlicher Mittelmeerraum wohl 5. - 6. Jh. n. Chr. GG 22 Kt. (geprüft). Bogenbrisur mit runder Schauseite, besetzt mit einem Almandincabochon, abschließend ein beweglicher kegelförmiger Korpus mit Granulatdekor.
H. 4,2 cm. 1,9 gr.
Provenienz: laut Angabe des Einlieferers erworben 1974 bei Jürgen Haering, Galerie am Museum, Freiburg i.Br.; seitdem Privatsammlung Dreisamtal.
