Snuff box «Flaming Hearts»
Germany 18th/19th C. Engraved bone and horn, and brass. Bulbous body with hinge. On the lid two flaming hearts, under the bottom depiction of a pair of lovers, all-round inscribed «Daß ich dich lieb das [...] ich sagen, ob du mich liebst das tu ich fragen (That I love you that [...] I say, whether you love me that I ask)».
H 2,8, W 6,0, D 4,0 cm.
