Braxmaier, Rainer
Born 1949 Baden-Baden, lives and works in Oberkirch.
«Staunend vor meinem Herzen (astonished by my heart)».
Mixed media with acrylic, oil pastels and pencil on strong cardboard, mounted on wood with roofing felt nails. Signed lower left. Dated «fertig (finished) 13.3. (19)92» lower middle and titled. Verso signed again, dated and inscribed as well as a printed collection label numbered «Nr. 9» and with the work's data.
H 86, W 101 cm. Unframed.
Rainer Braxmaier always builds his painting supports himself to emphasize the works' objecthood, and gives room to the lateral run-down of the colours. For a long time his repertoire also included art-untypical materials such as lacquers, emulsion paints and stains. The fact that the theme «heart» appears in this work originates in the artist's biography, who had known about his heart defect since 1978, which finally led to a heart transplantation in 2011. Since then, the artist had to turn his back on some of his techniques.
Authentication: We would like to thank the artist for the authentication via E-Mail, based on photos, 09.09.2020.
Provenance: purchased at the Galerie Pro Arte, Freiburg i.Br.; since then med art-collection of the HUG-group, Freiburg i.Br.

deutsch Braxmaier, Rainer
Provenienz: erworben in der Galerie Pro Arte, Freiburg i.Br.; seitdem med art-Sammlung der HUG-Gruppe, Freiburg i.Br.
