Geb. 1954 Madrid, lebt und arbeitet in Paris, Mallorca und New York.
«Fleur vert». Acrylic on canvas. Verso signed, titled, dated «Paris (19)87» and inscribed with the work's data.
H 300, W 300 cm. Unframed.
José María Sicilia is one of the most important and influential contemporary artists of Spain, whose works are attracting high interest worldwide and are included in the most famous public and private collections. His favoured depiction motifs are taken from nature, like flowers and butterflies, in addition he is particularly interested in the visual implementation of current affairs, like the reactor accident in Fukushima, Japan, caused by a tsunami in 2011. Characteristic of his mostly large-format artworks is the use of different materials like wax in combination with oil and acrylic paint. The present work called for auction, integrates itself perfectly into his series of red, green and white flower paintings, executed in the late 1980s.
This work can be visited by appointment at the storage of ART Sped Schütz GmbH Freiburg i.Br. The available photographs have been taken at the storage and are therefore no professional images. The description of the artwork is based on these photographs.

deutsch Geb. 1954 Madrid, lebt und arbeitet in Paris, Mallorca und New York.
«Fleur vert».
