During his time at the Moscow School of Painting, Petr Ivanovic Korovin got connected to genre painting thanks to his teachers Vasily Perov and Hilary Prjanisnikov. Characteristic of Korovin's oeuvre, as seen on the present painting, are scenes from everyday life.

Während seiner Zeit bei der Moskauer Schule für Malerei wurde Petr Ivanovic Korovin von seinen Lehrern Vasily Perov und Hilary Prjanisnikov zur Genremalerei geführt. Charakteristisch für Korovins Œuvre sind, wie auch auf dem vorliegenden Gemälde, Szenen aus dem Alltagsleben.
