The present work was originally part of a six-panel polyptych created as part of the «Anatomy/Orthopaedics» series and shown in autumn 2011 at EUROSPINE in Milan, the European Congress for Spinal Therapy, Surgery and Orthopaedics, and at DKOU in Berlin, the German Congress for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery. Three further panels, representing the thorax, ulna and radius, as well as the hand, are in the artist's property.
