Artist's book with 13 figures in mixed media of linen, gauze, papier-mâché, soil, chalk slurry, wax, oil, lime and burn marks on pages of soft linen, bound by hand with thread, in a wooden cassette. Cover signed, dated 1979 and titled. Pages each signed below the figure, ten pages each dated and inscribed on the opposite page with the the work's data, two pages dated and inscribed above and to the side of the figure respectively with details of the work. Cassette cover signed again, dated 1979 and titled.

Jürgen Brodwolf presents in this artist's book 13 gauze figures that are typical of his œuvre from various years. Some of the figures were buried in his cellar, soaked in liquid wax, cut out of earlier works or treated with burn marks. The figures, inscribed in a book, evoke associations with a catalogue raisonné and a diary in equal measure. Two impressions of the work emerge: on the one hand, it is a showcase of the range of the artist's work, on the other, an intimate insight into his creative process.
