2016
Braxmaier, Rainer
Born 1949 Baden-Baden, lives and works in Oberkirch.
«O.T ("mein Herz!") (untitled, my heart!)».
Mixed media with emulsion paint and varnish on masonite, mounted on wood with roofing felt nails. Signed lower right and dated «4. Juni (19)98» lower left. Verso signed again, dated «Oberkirch Mai 1998 (4. Juni)» and titled. Verso on the stretcher handwritten inscribed «Galerie pro arte Freiburg».
H 160, W 130 cm. Unframed.
Rainer Braxmaier always builds his painting supports himself to emphasize the works' objecthood, and gives room to the lateral run-down of the colours. For a long time his repertoire also included art-untypical materials such as lacquers, emulsion paints and stains. The fact that the theme «heart» appears in this work originates in the artist's biography, who had known about his heart defect since 1978, which finally led to a heart transplantation in 2011. Since then, the artist had to turn his back on some of his techniques.
Authentication: We would like to thank the artist for the authentication via E-Mail, based on photos, 09.09.2020.
Provenance: purchased at the Galerie Pro Arte, Freiburg i.Br., in 2002; since then med art-collection of the HUG-group, Freiburg i.Br.

deutsch Braxmaier, Rainer
Geb. 1949 Baden-Baden, lebt und arbeitet in Oberkirch.
«O.T ("mein Herz!")».
Provenienz: erworben 2002 in der Galerie Pro Arte, Freiburg i.Br.; seitdem med art-Sammlung der HUG-Gruppe, Freiburg i.Br.
