´The Lovesongª. ÷l/Holz. Im Bildzentrum vor einem groþen Fenster eine vertr”umt blickende junge Frau mit langem Haar in einem weiþ-gr¸nen Kleid eine Mandoline spielend, eingerahmt von zwei Rosenstr”uchern. Rechts neben ihr ein ihrem Spiel lauschender junger Mann mit Schnurrbart. U.r. sign. Verso Etikett der French galleries. H. 88,5, B. 69,5 cm.
Expertise: Prof. Judit Boros, Kunsthistorikerin an der Ungarischen Nationalgalerie, Budapest, 21.03.2011.
Laut der Expertise von Prof. Boros ist das Bild im Jahr 1888 entstanden. Munk·csy malte eine Reihe von lyrischen Genrebildern in der Zeit von 1886 bis 1888 mit weiblichen Figuren in Kost¸men aus der Zeit Louis XIII, die sich ¸ber Stickereien lehnen oder Instrumente spielen, s”mtlich in der gleichen Umgebung. Die m”nnlichen Figuren dieser Bilder agieren nur als Zuh–rer und Bewunderer. Das 1958 ver–ffentlichte Verzeichnis der Gem”lde Munk·csys von Lajos VÈgv·ri enth”lt drei weitere Versionen des Sujets, die alle dieselbe Mandoline spielende Frau darstellen, die variierend zwei m”nnliche Zuh–rer oder wie auf unserem Bild nur einen jungen Verehrer hat. Das vorliegende Gem”lde entspricht in jeder Hinsicht dem Sp”tstil Munk·csys, der sich besonders typisch in der Art der Lichtf¸hrung durch das Fenster zeigt oder den teilweise durch das Licht aufgel–sten Formen, beispielsweise im Haar der Frau. ´The Lovesongª ist eines der sch–nsten Beispiele der Kost¸mbilder Munk·csys.
