Entschlafen der Gottesmutter
Dormition of the Mother of God. Greece probably 18th C. Egg tempera over chalk ground on panel, partially gilt. Mary's dead body encircled by the mourning apostles. Christ in a mandorla receiving her soul, which appears in the figure of a newborn child. Signs of age. Restored.
H 44,5, W 36,9 cm.

Griechenland wohl 18. Jh. Eitempera über Kreidegrund auf Holz, partiell vergoldet. Der Leichnam Mariens von den trauernden Aposteln umgeben. Christus in einer Mandorla empfängt ihre Seele, die in Gestalt eines neugeborenen Kindes erscheint. Altersspuren. Altrest.
