Gold earring with vase motif and garnet
Probably Byzantine 6th - 7th C. AD. Yellow gold 22k (tested). French wire with delicate, crescent-shaped front, centrally applied vase motif, flanked by two conical almandines, suspending five flexible link chains, stylized ivy leaves as finishing elements.

Provenance: according to the consignor purchased in the art trade before 1974; since then private collection Dreisamtal.

Goldohrhänger mit Vasenmotiv und Granat
Wohl Byzantinisch 6. - 7. Jh. n. Chr. GG 22 Kt. (geprüft). Bogenbrisur mit filigraner, halbmondförmiger Schauseite mit zentral aufgelegtem Vasenmotiv, flankiert von zwei kegelförmigen Almandinen, daran fünf bewegliche Gliederketten, stilisierte Efeublätter als Abschlusselemente.
H. 5,1 cm. 2,3 gr.
Provenienz: laut Angabe des Einlieferers erworben vor 1974 im Kunsthandel; seitdem Privatsammlung Dreisamtal.
