This work can be grouped into Peter Dreher's genre of post-pop art, to which he devoted himself in the mid-1980s. Here Dreher partially worked in whole series, both in oil and watercolour, in which the word «BILD (picture)» is quite literally in the centre of the picture and overlaps the painted subject.
