Gebrüder Weyersberg cluster ring with bottle-green tourmaline and diamonds
Düsseldorf 1985. White gold 18k. Divided ring band, laterally openworked front, centrally set with an oval-cut verdelite weighing 1,85 carats, surrounded by 16 brilliant-cut diamonds weighing in total 0,64 carats VVS, top wesselton to wesselton. Hallmark, manufacturer's mark and inscribed «Pk».
Ring size 55. 4,9 g.
Handmade individual creation.
Tourmaline was already known in antiquity, but has only been used in Europe since 1700. The word tourmaline goes back to the Singhalese word «turamali», which means «stone with mixed colours». Today there are various names for the different colour varieties on the market. For example, the stones from pink to red are called rubellite and the green stones are known as verdelite
.
