Around 1890. Oil on cardboard. Signed lower left. Verso inscribed «704a/68», «27.5.1» and badly legible «Maintal (?)» presumably by a different hand.

Although this landscape depiction is a rather untypical motif for Fritz Boehle's extensive oeuvre, the signature is a clear indicator of an early work by the artist. The painting was executed under the impression of Hans Thoma's naturalistic landscape images.
