Angel from an altarpiece
South Germany 18th C. Wood, carved with flattened back, painted in polychrome colours and partially gilt. Verso inscribed with black inventory number «363527-3». Angel on a round base with pleated and purely gilt garment, hands folded for prayer, the left knee exposed.
H 54, W 19 cm.
Provenance: private collection Glottertal.
Condition report 
Good overall impression. Signs of age and surface soiling. Shrinking cracks in the paint later refreshed, restored fissures and additions on the base, restored fractures at the left arm and garment, here and there paint loss and rubbing. Toes of the right foot and wings missing.
