Mahasidda Krsnacarya
Tibet 16th C. Bronze, partially cold-gilt and painted in red and blue. Krsnacarya (also transcribed as Krishnacharya or Krishnacarin) is seated on a folded cloth over a double lotus throne. In his left hand he holds a bowl, the right is raised in the vitarka mudra. The cold-gilt face is richly detailed, the hair is painted in red and blue. Decorated with finely chiselled ornamental decors and pendants. One-piece hollow casting, closed base plate.
H 17,7, W 10,5 cm.
Provenance: Collection Ulrich von Schroeder, Zurich; most recently private collection Frankfurt a.M. and Baden-Baden.
