The present work shows exemplary the typical symbolic-abstract lines by Hartung's hand, which he used to investigate the tension and relationship between colour planes and lines. Hartung is regarded as a leading representative of Art Informel in Europe.

Das vorliegende Werk zeigt beispielhaft die für Hartung typische zeichenhaft-abstrakte Linienführung, mit welcher er das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Farbfläche und Linie untersucht. Hartung gilt als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter des europäischen Informel.
