Small Black Forest wall clock Sorg type with flower basket
Southern Germany circa 1850. Stamped brass, wood and iron. Rectangular case. Brass shield with flower decoration in arch and spandrels. Enamel dial with Roman minute scale, blackened Louis XV hands. 24-hour movement. Good age-related fully functional condition. Dial chipped and with hairline cracks. Restored.
H 9, W 6,4, D 4,8 cm.
Pendulum and cone-shaped weight.
Named after the clockmaker family Sorg, who manufactured the first clocks of the movement type «kleine Schwarzwälder (small Black Forest clock)» in Neustadt around 1820.

Schwarzwälder Sorguhr mit Blütenkorb
Süddeutsch um 1850. Messing, geprägt, Holz und Eisen. Hochrechteckiges Gehäuse. Messingschild mit Blumendekor im Bogen und in den Zwickeln. Emailzifferblatt mit römischer Minuterie, geschwärzte Louis XV Zeiger. 24-Std.-Gehwerk. Guter, altersbedingter, funktionstüchtiger Zustand. Zifferblatt best. und mit Haarrissen. Altrest.

Benannt nach der Uhrmacherfamilie Sorg, die um 1820 in Neustadt die ersten Uhren des Werktypus «kleine Schwarzwälder» fertigte.
