Sicilia often uses the encaustic technique, mixing colour pigments with wax, heating them and applying them hot onto the painting surface. This process creates soft, blurred colour transitions. He often places a paper under the wax layer to create the characteristic windows.
Authentication: We would like to thank Mr Philippe Manzone, Galerie Chantal Crousel, Paris, for the direct consultation of the artist and the authentication via E-Mail, based on photos, 15.10.2019.
Provenance: Galeria Soledad Lorenzo, Madrid; Galeria Arte Y Naturaleza, Madrid; since then private collection Spain.

deutsch Sicilia, José María
Geb. 1954 Madrid, lebt und arbeitet in Paris, Mallorca und New York.
«Los paños de oro 633».
Provenienz: Galeria Soledad Lorenzo, Madrid; Galeria Arte Y Naturaleza, Madrid; seitdem Privatsammlung Spanien.
