Buddha Amida Nyorai
Japan 19th C. Dark patinated bronze. On octagonal base with ornamental cartouches lotus throne on which the contemplating Buddha sits in padmasana, head and body slightly bent forward and in his hands the alms vessel. Openworked mandorla inserted behind him. Base closed.
H 25,4, W 12 cm.
Provenance: private collection Frankfurt a.M. and Baden-Baden.
Condition report
Good overall impression. Slight signs of corrosion on the base and verso, mandorla chipped in one place on the rim, throne and robe rubbed, closed base with hole in the middle.
