Icon with the Synaxis of the Archangels
Russia early 19. C. Egg tempera over chalk and gold ground on panel. Deepened middle field with depiction of Christ Emmanuel in an aureole, which is held by the archangels Michael and Gabriel floating on clouds. Behind the aureole other angels, under the aureole a fiery red cherub. The icon is crowned by a blessing Jesus on a bank of clouds.
