Japonesque cabinet with swan console
Probably England 19th/20th C. Wood, ebonised, bronzed and partially gilt, as well as black-ground lacquer. Two paw feet and a rear, pedestal leg, base plate with japonesque painting, two carved swans on the sides, supporting the console base. Above, a four-door, box-shaped cabinet top with protruding top, lacquer doors decorated with painted japonesque figural scenes in relief in front of rocky landscapes, geometric decorations in the spandrels. The lower compartments open downwards and the doors and interiors are lined with grey marble. Original locks.

Condition report
Good age-related condition. Numerous chippings on the cabinet top, lower right corner heavily damaged (approx.
H 6, W 6 cm), small missing parts at the tips of the outer wings of the swans and at the base, isolated minor chippings on the black lacquer, paintings slightly rubbed, gilt of the console partially strongly rubbed with the primer becoming visible. The veneer in the upper right compartment damaged, the lower right door cannot be folded down completely. Key added later.
