«Tanagräerin» mit Farbspuren

Tanagra figurine with colour traces
Probably Boeotia 3rd C. BC. Terracotta, with white grounding and remains of yellowish and flesh-coloured paint. Statuette of a young woman in a striding position, wearing a floor-length chiton with rich drapery and a himation above it. Partially rubbed. Restored foot.

At the end of the 4th century BC, the town of Tanagra in Boeotia developed into a leading production site for small-format terracotta sculptures.
