A couple in the moonlight at the shore of lake Chiemsee - hardly a romantic atmospheric picture can be better described than this landscape by Carl Schweninger the Elder. Frequently Schweninger painted such ideal landscapes, which he regularly showed at the exhibitions of the Vienna Academies and the Kunstverein.
