«In the 1950s, René Kern delighted his customers in Düsseldorf with individual, exclusive treasures in which he impressively combined classic and modern design.
René Kern comes from an old family of goldsmiths and learns the craft from his father Georg in Wiesbaden. He moves to Düsseldorf and starts his own business. [...] With the opening of the jewellery shop on Düsseldorf's Königsallee, René Kern is the shining address for unusual and individually crafted jewellery until 1979 and carries well-known international jewellery and watch brands. His customers include German business giants, the Shah of Persia and King Hassan of Morocco. Without a family successor, he sells the company and three other locations in Germany for health reasons. [...] In 2007, the Swiss family-run company Bucherer, a specialist in watches and jewellery, integrates the four René Kern shops.» from: https://www.ernstfaerber.com/workshop/kern-rene.
