Oil on panel. Signed lower left and dated (19)36. Verso dated 1935/36, titled and inscribed «Original v. Karl Hauptmann» as well as «Feldberg/Schw» by hand.

Hauptmann depicted the combination of Feldsee and Seebuck several times in the mid-1930s as a subject for his works. A today partially lost mural in the Feldbergerhof also shows this motif. Looking across the lake, far above at the highest point of the Seebuck, a landmark of the Feldberg peak, the Bismarck monument, can be seen.
