Saint Nicholas of Myra flanked by Christ and Mary
Probably Russia 18th/19th C. Egg tempera over chalk and gold ground on panel. Saint Nicholas with a green omophorion, the Gospel in his left hand, giving a blessing with his right.
H 31, W 26,5 cm.
Saint Nicholas is one of the most venerated saints in the Orthodox Church, as he assists the faithful in cases of illness and is held responsible for the often miraculous healing of the sick.

Condition report
Good overall impression. Signs of age. Restored vertical fracture, retouchings, small spots of paint loss (circa
1 mm -
8 mm), gold ground considerably rubbed. Both reverse sponki missing.
