Etruscan Bucchero bowl
Probably 6th - 5th C. BC. Bucchero pottery. Flared base, goblet shaped body, circumferential grooves on the wall and incised, radial decor. On lead seal, that allowed the official exportation, inscribed «H» and «ROMA». Scratches, missing parts. Restored fractures.

The so-called Bucchero ceramics are black, shiny pottery vessels created in Etruscan workshops between the 7th and 4th century BC. Numerous finds prove the widespread presence of these exceptional objects in the Mediterranean area, which owe their striking coloration to a reduced oxygen supply during the firing process and the consequent formation of iron oxide.
Provenance: purchased at Apothekergeräte Hermann Klarner, Feldafing, in 1971; since then private collection Lower Saxony.
Etruskische Bucchero Schale
Wohl 6. - 5. Jh. v. Chr. Buccherokeramik. Ausgestellter Fuß, kelchförmiger Korpus, auf Wandung umlaufende Rillen und strahlenförmiger Ritzdekor. Auf Bleiplombe, welche die offizielle Ausfuhr ermöglichte, bez. «H» und «ROMA». Kratzer, Fehlstellen. Altrest. Bruchstellen.
