Travelling icon of the Mother of Sorrows with oklad
Probably Moscow 1838. Egg tempera on panel and partially gilt silver 84 zolotnik. Mother of God of the «Seven Sorrows» in neo-Gothic, tabernacle-like framing, on a velvet ground, under a glass pane, in a wooden frame. Hallmark, maker's mark «[...] E.E.», not interpreted, assayer's mark «[...] 1838», probably for Nikolaj Wasilijew Ljusinow (1832 - 1892), and town mark.
