Paar Mönchsadoranten «Sariputta und Moggallana»
Pair of monk adorants «Sariputta und Moggallana». Tibet 19th C. Carved wood, gilt over red lacquer, as well as coloured mirror glass. Counterparts of the two chief disciples of Buddha, resting on their knees. Sariputta holding his hands in an admiring manner in anjali mudra, Moggallana, bending forward, leaning relaxed on knees and calves. Signs of age. Restored.
H 20,8 respectively 21, W 19,7 cm.

Tibet 19. Jh. Holz, geschnitzt und über Rotlack vergoldet, sowie farbiges Spiegelglas. Gegenstücke der beiden Lieblingsschüler Buddhas, auf den Knien ruhend. Sariputta hält die Hände verehrend in anjali mudra, Moggallana, weit vorgebeugt, stützt sich entspannt auf Knie und Wade. Altersspuren. Altrest.
