H 150,
In his mostly large-format works, Michael Eckle devotes himself exclusively to the colour ultramarine. Eckle calls himself «obsessed» with the pigment ultramarine. «It came from across the sea, from oltre mare», he explains in an interview. This is where not only the name of the colour comes from but also the titles of many of his works. «It is the only colour that is present in space with intensity and at the same time give deep space.» from: Stephanie Schwaderer, Im Jenseits der Farben, Süddeutsche Zeitung, 30.09.2016. The edges of the canvas in signal yellow form an imaginary frame.
