Shamanic bird pendant
Costa Rica circa 1200 AD. Tumbaga. Stylised, bird-like figure with long, curved beak, spherical eyes, spread wings, sculptural feet and broad tail. Pendant loop on the back.
Examination report: Prof. Dr. Ernst-Ludwig Richter, Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Stuttgart, 04.02.1991, in copy. Spectral-analytical examination of a sample of 16 gold objects from the private collection K., in which the dating circa 1200 AD was affirmed.
