Philipp Cognée frequently uses the technique of encaustic, mixing colour pigments with melted wax and applying it on the surface while still hot. This process results in smooth and blurry colour transitions.

Philipp Cognée arbeitet häufig in der Technik der Enkaustik, wobei er Farbpigmente mit Wachs vermischt, erhitzt und heiß auf den Malgrund aufträgt. Durch diesen Prozess entstehen weiche, verschwommene Farbübergänge.
