Miniatur-Klassizismus-Kommode mit Klosterarbeit
Miniature Neoclassical commode with nunnery embroidery. Eichstätt or Dillingen late 18th C. Fir, painted in white and gold, silk and gold embroidery. Good original condition.
This miniature commode served as coffer for «Walburgis oil», which has been produced at the Benedictine nunnery St. Walburg in Eichstätt, Bavaria.
Provenance: private collection North Rhine-Westphalia.

Eichstätt oder Dillingen Ende 18. Jh. Tanne, weiß gefasst und vergoldet, Seide und Goldstickerei. Zweischübiger Korpus mit Lorbeerfeston- und Fruchtkorbaufsatz sowie Zarge mit Blüten- und Blattapplikation. Guter, originaler Zustand.
H. 20,5, B. 17, T. 9 cm.
Diese Miniaturkommode diente als Kassette für Walburgisöl, welches im Benediktinerinnenkloster St. Walburg in Eichstätt hergestellt wurde.
