«Augenwender» automaton frame clock «The First Kiss»
Black Forest around 1860/70. Wood, ebonised and partially gilt, brass, as well as oil on zinc sheet. Upright rectangular, glazed case, ebonised frame with gilt molding. Depiction of a pair of lovers, the young woman mischievously moving her glass eyes in pendulum rhythm. Enamel dial with Roman minute scale, cathedral hands. Metal spindled 24-hour wooden board movement striking on a coil gong.
