Petite Fleur cocktail ring with amethysts, rosy tourmalines and diamonds
Germany 2000s. Red gold 14k. Marquise-shaped, openworked front on the shape of six blossoms, set with 29 swiss-cut amethysts weighing in total
Ring size 57. 11,5 g.
Tourmaline was already known in antiquity, but has only been used in Europe since 1700. The word tourmaline goes back to the Singhalese word «turamali», which means «stone with mixed colours». Today there are various names for the different colour varieties on the market. For example, the stones from pink to red are called rubellite and the green stones are known as verdelite.
