H 84,
One of the few landscape paintings by the extraordinary expressionist artist that survived the Second World War. She had a deep friendship with Karl Schmidt-Rottluff (1884 - 1976), which is documented in an extensive correspondence. Because of the great loss of her works due to war damages, Maria von Heider-Schweinitz is also counted among the «lost generation» of expressive realism.
Provenance: presumably collection of the HSH Nordbank; Bassenge, Berlin, auction 104, 27.11.2014, lot 8157; since then private collection South Germany.
