Buddha Shakyamuni with openworked lotus throne
China, Ming period 17th C. Patinated bronze with remains of old gilding and blue painting. On a partially openworked lotus throne the meditating Buddha sits in dhyana asana, hands in dhunana mudra with alms vessel. The braid of his robe has a fine tendril pattern. Urna on forehead and head, remains of blue paint in his hair. Verso on the throne remains of an old label.
