Biedermeier wing chair, the so-called «Schinkel chair»
Design probably by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, Berlin around 1830. Mahogany, veneered, and walnut. C-shaped, short, curved legs, deep seat, armrests, backrest with lateral wings, each cushioned. Recurring concentric circular reliefs in walnut, otherwise smooth veneer. Spring core cushioning with diamond shaped covering fabric.

Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781 - 1841), the Prussian architect and universal artist, is considered the originator of the model design for this armchair. The extremely comfortable chair has a classic Biedermeier design, which is also inspired by English club chairs of that time.
