«In the seventies, René Acht expanded the area-bound cut-outs into the spatial by including various materials such as string, cotton wool, foil, tissue paper or ink. [...] He uses them only very sparingly and purposefully. His particular interest is in allowing the materials to enter into a symbolic relationship with the cut-outs in order to create different levels of reality.
