Eisvergnügen. Öl/Lw., doubl. Auf dem Eis zahlreiche Personen Kolf spielend, Schlitten schiebend oder konversierend. Im Mittelgrund ein eingefrorenes Boot, dahinter am jenseitigen Ufer Häuser und Türme einer Stadt. U.r. monogr. auf dem Baumstamm. Retuschen.
Aert van der Neers winterliche Landschaften sind wunderbare Zeugnisse der Blütezeit des Goldenen Zeitalters der Niederlande. «Die Illusion der Raumtiefe, die Lichtverhältnisse des trüben Wintertages und die Abendstimmung sind meisterhaft getroffen (vgl. Bachmann)».
