Neo-Renaissance cabinet
Belgium around 1880. Walnut, carved. Two pressed ball feet and two block feet, two-door body with a drawer above, flanked by two carved pilasters, above a recessed, single-door upper part with a central drawer and carved half-columns in «fleur de lys» decor, protruding, richly articulated, broken cornice with dentils. The front has a strong architectural structure and is carved with arabesques as well as floral Renaissance elements. The doors are carved with three muses in a landscape, in the column-framed picture fields of the top part two reliefs of nymphs on consoles pouring out water jugs. The side surfaces richly coffered. Original locks and fittings.
