This unique piece by Michael Croissant shows the reduced and abstract style for which he is well known. In his often large format works he addresses the human body. The sculptor was influenced by different cultures and their creative expression in art, for example Egypt, Greece, Etruria and China. This work belongs to the category of abstract stelae that Croissant increasingly produced from 1983 onwards.
Provenance: purchased at Galerie Wack, Kaiserslautern, at the Art Basel, in 1994; since then private possession Titisee-Neustadt.
